If you are working on a home renovation, revamping your style, or just changing up the half bath in your house, it can get as overwhelming as it can be exciting. We know how important it is to have some structure to the process so that you don’t have that early or midlife crisis a day too soon because the 5 shades of sea foam green paint all look the same to your spouse. We get it. It can be daunting to weed through the influx of details that the world offers us. We have an endless sea of options and just making our way through all of them to decide on what is true for us, seems to be most of our biggest challenges. We can help you cut down on the strain and stress of making the changes that your heart is craving, but if you decide to walk this interior design path on your own this time, we want you to feel somewhat prepared! You need a Pinterest board. There, we said it! We know it may sound cliché, but if you are using Pinterest the way it was designed, you can leave behind a world of heartache and just get to the bare bones of what you are trying to accomplish with a clean and concise plan. Isn’t that what we want? A plan that unfolds without that added heartache of painting over the same wall six times because we just couldn’t really decide on the color? Here are some super simple steps to creating your Pinterest board so that you are finding your finalized idea and can make it happen.

Create the Board

We obviously need that board. We are pretty sure you already have your Pinterest account secured. On the off chance that you don’t, crawl out from underneath that rock, and let’s make a Pinterest. It helps to come up with a clever and fun title. It really sets the mood for all of the creativity that is about to take place.

So at this point, don’t overanalyze and overthink it. Just search and pin what you see that gives you that little spark. If it catches your eye and reflects your style, pin it. Compile it all together and by the end of this, you will have the process of weeding out and really coming to your more final idea path.

Your Theme, Style, or Finalized Idea

Now that you have a significant amount of ideas pinned you can start to browse through and determine what style and ideas you are leaning more towards. This can be challenging but don’t be discouraged because if you are having a difficult time making these decisions because you love too many styles at once, call someone you trust and ask them which style they feel reflects you more! This can be challenging if you are just getting into discovering your style, but if you aren’t new to this process, this shouldn’t be too hard for you!

Narrow Down

This is the point where you can narrow down more and more until you have finalized your path and even some of the actual details that you will use in creating a room or space that reflects you! It’s ok to make another board devoted to your finalized ideas and inspiration, in fact, we highly recommend it!

We don’t want you to walk it alone, even if you do it without our help! We hope this was a source of inspiration for you and we can’t wait to see what you come up with! Contact us today if we can be of help to you!

Who doesn’t love clean, modern design? This is some major inspiration done by yours truly and it is immaculate! If you search on Pinterest for Clean Minimalism, this is the kind of atmospheric vibe you would see. We have talked about Minimalism before and the concept doesn’t seem to be leaving us any time soon. If you love this gorgeous chandelier as much as we do, you can find it at Visual Comfort. It adds such a dynamic touch to the room. We are swooning over the clean and crisp whites and the accents of black and gray. There are so many different ways that you can style your space in the Minimalist concept even if there is less to work with.

As much as it is a concept, it’s a lifestyle. For some, it can mean letting go of anything that doesn’t spark joy and then embracing simplicity in every room. For others, you may already live simply and you just need to find a way to make sure that your personal style reflects that. For many of us being in a simple and clean space can ignite passion and creativity while also helping us to remain calm and grounded. There is a feeling of peace to it. This room is simple and free of clutter and even too much color. If that calls to you, embrace it.

It doesn’t have to be clean and crisp whites though. Minimalism may be minimal but you can use organic materials and you can even include more of a color palette within your space. Just because it welcomes simplicity doesn’t mean you have to feel restricted. You can find focal pieces that speak to your personal style and even bring the room to life, like large mirrors, plants, chunky throw blankets, and stylish pillows and cushions. You can get as creative as you want while still maintaining minimal. Remember to find ways to add your own interesting touch just like we did with the chandelier. Maybe in your case, it is an area rug or a beautiful side table.

You can still choose your Mid-Century Modern or your Scandinavian or your Traditional or even your Bo-ho, while still preserving a Minimalist vibe. It all comes down to hand picking your palette and your favorite pieces while being selective and not adding too much clutter to the space. Spend some time brainstorming and maybe even making a Pinterest board for inspiration. We love seeing all of the beautiful ways to design and style your space. You can always color outside of the lines and think outside of the box. It’s what makes your personal style, YOURS. We hope to be a source of inspiration for any fun and new interior design adventure that you are planning to take. If you think you could use some help, don’t hesitate to reach out! We are looking forward to working with you to bring your vision to life on the inside and the outside of your home!
